What makes Wabash Capital different?

Answer: We specialize in helping the individual investor make the best of the opportunities available. The last 25 years has seen an explosion in the creation of financial instruments previously unknown or unavailable to the individual investor. Technology has made more innovation possible but has also increased the complexity. Simply put, more information does not always mean better knowledge. We help the client envision the end result, create a plan to get there and then execute that plan.

What is a Registered Investment Advisor?

Answer: Wabash Capital is a fee based Registered Investment Advisor, commonly known as a RIA. While a stock broker or registered representative may charge fees rather than, or in addition to, commissions, he/she does not operate under the same laws regarding fiduciary responsibilities to a client. Generally speaking, under United States law, investment advisors are required to provide their client a higher degree of fiduciary duty by providing full and complete disclosure of all fees, conflicts of interest, and if authorized to exercise discretion is selecting investments adhering to the fiduciary standard of prudent investing instead of the lesser standard of reasonable investing. In lay terms, investment advisors generally provide ongoing discretionary investment advice with only the clients best interests in mind and all fees and compensation disclosed. This is not the same standard or level of service you'll receive from a registered representative who works for a firm in a sales capacity.

Where is my money held?

Answer: We typically recommend the custody service of Fidelity Investments to hold the securities and cash of our clients. Fidelity is one of the largest financial firms in the world and specializes in retirement plans and individual investors. They are a privately held company, which insulates them from the whims of shareholders. Fidelity commits a large sum annually to systems and technology updates that allows RIA client's unparalleled service and security.

How can I keep track of my account?

Answer: Fidelity, the custodian, sends a monthly statement to our clients as well as confirmation notices every time there is a transaction in your account. Your account is available online via a secure access for 24/7 viewing. Wabash Capital produces and sends each client a quarterly performance report in an easy to read format that allows you to see how your account is progressing.
